The Project

Summerset Landing is a modern retirement living development in the heart of Kenepuru, offering a mix of villas, cottages, and apartments.

The Requirement

During the bulk earthworks portion of the project, a significant amount of dirt was tracking onto the busy streets of Porirua, not only causing an environmental and safety issue, but also providing a bad image for Summerset and the contractors working on the site to the surrounding neighbourhood.

The Wheel Wash Solution

Rapid Earthworks approached Condor for a solution to this issue, as the existing short wash platform wheel wash system wasn’t sufficient for the clay soiling and truck volumes the site was having to manage.

A MobyDick 400B Wheel Wash System was recommended by Condor's team due to it having a full 4 metre wash platform providing a full tyre rotation and an optimum wash result.

The system has a full 20mᶟ water recycling tank, meaning minimal top-up water was required.

The Result

The Wheel Wash System was delivered to the site, and Condor staff oversaw the installation.

By keeping the dirt off the roads and surrounding stormwater catchments, the end result was that there was minimal environmental impact to the surrounding stormwater network, and the roads were kept safe.
