Keeping Halswell Subdivision Construction on Track
Contractor: South East Earthworks
Client: Wolfbrook Construction
Location: Halswell, Christchurch

With water tables sitting just 500mm below ground level, Wolfbrook Construction's 52-lot residential subdivision in Halswell, Christchurch, presented a serious dewatering challenge from the outset.
Located adjacent to sensitive wetlands, the project demanded not just continuous pumping, but precise water treatment and strict environmental compliance - with real-time reporting to consulting engineers and council.
In this project spotlight, Adam from South East Earthworks walks us through how Condor's lamella tank and floc dosing system kept the job moving. Running two to three pumps around the clock, the system processed groundwater through lamella filtration and flocculation, achieving compliant turbidity levels for off-site discharge throughout the earthworks programme - without delays to the construction schedule.
It's a strong example of what the right water management solution looks like on a complex, compliance-heavy residential development.
