Pipeline Bypass Success: Supporting Infrastructure Inspection in Silverstream

We're proud to share the details of our recent collaboration with Goodman Contractors and Drain Doctor on a pipeline inspection project in Silverstream, Lower Hutt. This project showcases the importance of reliable pumping solutions in maintaining infrastructure without disrupting services. 

The Challenge 

Drain Doctor needed to conduct comprehensive CCTV inspections on 1,200 metres of pipeline infrastructure to assess wear and tear and identify maintenance requirements. The pipeline system needed to remain fully operational throughout the entire inspection process. 

Our Solution 

Condor was brought in to provide the pumping infrastructure necessary to make this inspection possible. Our team deployed two Atlas Copco pumps to establish two 600-metre pipeline bypasses, ensuring uninterrupted flow while Drain Doctor's specialists carried out their detailed camera inspections. 

The bypass system worked seamlessly, maintaining system pressure and flow rates throughout the inspection period. This allowed Drain Doctor to thoroughly examine the pipeline condition without any service disruption to end users. 

The Results 

The project was completed successfully, with Drain Doctor able to conduct their full CCTV inspection and assess the pipeline's condition. The data gathered will inform future maintenance decisions and help prevent potential failures before they occur. 

This type of preventive maintenance is invaluable for infrastructure management, potentially saving costs and avoiding emergency repairs down the line.
