The Project

The Seaview Energy Resilience Project is a critical infrastructure initiative aimed at future-proofing the fuel supply for Wellington and the lower North Island. The Seaview Wharf and its pipeline network are essential for regional fuel security, and upgrades are necessary to ensure resilience during seismic events and long-term operational reliability.

Brian Perry Civil is undertaking significant pipeline installation work on Port Road as part of this multi-year project. The work involves deep trenching for underground fuel infrastructure, requiring robust safety systems to protect workers while they install this vital energy supply network.

The Trench Shoring Requirement

Deep trench excavation for pipeline installation presents significant safety risks. Unstable trench walls can collapse without warning, posing serious hazards to workers operating in confined spaces below ground level. With critical fuel infrastructure at stake and teams working in challenging urban conditions, reliable trench wall stability was a non-negotiable.

The project demanded a shoring solution capable of providing secure working environments across varying ground conditions while maintaining efficiency to keep the project on schedule.

The Solution

Condor deployed our heavy-duty 4m-60 Shore Trench Boxes to support Brian Perry Civil's operations on Port Road. Our all-steel trench shoring system provides the robust protection needed for deep pipeline installation work, creating a secure environment for crews to complete critical underground tasks.

The trench boxes deliver reliable trench wall stability, allowing the team to work confidently below ground while installing the fuel pipeline infrastructure. Our shoring system's foam-filled panels and heavy-duty construction ensure consistent performance, keeping workers safe and the project moving forward efficiently.

The Equipment

Our 4m-60 Trench Shoring features all-steel construction with working pressure capabilities up to 60kPa. The system includes foam-filled panels to limit water and soil infiltration, knife-edge panels for easier installation, and a robust strut design that enables installation using Dig & Push or Dig & Place methods in all soil types.

With internal working widths up to 4.0m, clearance between struts of 3600mm, and compatibility with top extensions, our trench shoring adapts to varying excavation depths and site conditions. Manufactured and certified to AS4744, the equipment meets the safety standards for New Zealand civil construction projects.

Our team works hard to understand the challenges you face. We go further to ensure the solutions we provide are fit for purpose and will keep your crews safe so you can get on with the task at hand.

These systems are available New Zealand wide. Contact us to discuss your site requirements.
